Is Pressler and Pressler calling anyone else 5+ times a day? Is this normal?
I’ve been getting constant calls from Pressler and Pressler for a few weeks now, and it’s getting out of hand. At first, it was just annoying, but now they’re calling my cell phone 4 or 5 times a day, sometimes as early as 8:05 AM and as late as 9:30 PM. They’ve even called my job a couple of times.
I made the mistake of answering once, and the person I spoke to was really rude and made vague threats about “legal action” if I didn’t pay immediately. It’s stressing me out, and I honestly don’t even know if the debt is really mine or if the amount is correct, since they never sent me anything by mail.
I started looking into my rights and found this article that basically describes everything that’s happening to me: https://protectionforconsumers.com/pressler-and-pressler-debt-collection-harassment/
It says that calling multiple times a day, calling outside of 8 AM-9 PM, contacting me at work, and being threatening are all potential violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). I had no idea.
Has anyone else dealt with them? Did you just block the numbers, or did you do something else? I’m thinking about sending a certified letter asking them to stop calling and to validate the debt, but I’m not sure where to start. Any advice would be really appreciated.
