PPF or ceramic coating? I’m so confused about what to do for my new car
So I finally took delivery of my brand new Lexus ES last week and I’m absolutely in love with it, the color is this gorgeous deep blue that looks incredible when the light hits it just right. But now I’m stressing out about how to protect the paint because I’ve heard so many horror stories about rock chips on the highway and swirl marks from automatic car washes, and I really want to keep this car looking showroom fresh for as long as possible. Everyone I ask seems to have a different opinion on what I should do, some people swear by ceramic coating because it makes washing easier and gives a great shine, while others say paint protection film is the only way to actually prevent stone chips and scratches. I’ve been researching like crazy and I think I’m leaning towards getting PPF at least on the front bumper and hood since those are the most vulnerable areas, but then I wonder if I should just go all in and cover the whole car. I came across Leading Paint Protection Film By 800Sayara Sharjah and they seem to use good quality film with a self-healing property, which sounds amazing because the idea of minor scratches disappearing on their own in the heat is pretty appealing. The thing is, I’m not sure if the cost is really worth it for a daily driver that’s going to be parked outside in the sun most of the time, or if I should just go with ceramic coating and be extra careful when I drive. Has anyone here actually gotten PPF installed on their car in Sharjah and can tell me how it’s held up after a year or two? I’m worried about yellowing or the edges peeling up, especially with the summer heat we get here. Also, does it really make a noticeable difference in protecting against rock chips or am I just being paranoid? I’d appreciate any honest feedback from people who’ve been through this decision before.
