That small oil spot on the driveway finally got worse
I noticed a few drops of oil under my 2016 BMW X4 maybe two months ago but figured it was just seepage from the filter housing and kept putting it off. Fast forward to last week and suddenly I’m losing half a liter every 500 km, plus a burning smell when I park. Took a flashlight and saw oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold from above, so I’m pretty sure it’s the valve cover gasket or maybe the oil cooler gasket. A buddy warned me not to take it to just any shop because BMWs have all these plastic components that crack if overtorqued, and he said finding a proper Leak Repair Workshop Dubai BMW that actually cleans the surfaces and uses the right sealant is half the battle. I’m hoping it’s just the gasket and not the cover itself warping because that’s twice the price. Has anyone here had an upper oil leak that looked minor but turned into something bigger? Also curious how long you can drive with oil dripping on the exhaust before it becomes a fire risk because that smell is making me nervous.
