EZNPC Rebuke of the Vaal POE1 Tips for Big Elemental DPS
Rebuke of the Vaal is a level 64 Vaal Blade unique that piles on huge added Physical, Fire, Cold, Lightning and Chaos damage, making elemental sword builds feel punchy from maps to bosses.
Rebuke of the Vaal is one of those PoE1 uniques that looks like a meme until you actually swing it a few times. You equip it at 64, you glance at the flat damage lines, and you realise why people keep it bookmarked for new leagues. It’s a one-handed sword that sprays physical, fire, cold, lightning, and chaos all at once, so your hits feel “busy” in the best way. If you’re trying to get rolling fast and you don’t feel like sitting in trade for hours, some players even top up missing gear or basics through EZNPC so they can get back to mapping instead of price-checking every little upgrade.
What the weapon actually does for you
The big deal is the flat lightning roll, which can be huge for a one-hander, but it’s the mix that changes how you build. Every support that scales elemental damage with attacks suddenly matters, and your auras start pulling more weight than you’d expect. The sword also comes with attack speed and accuracy, which smooths out early maps when your character still feels a bit undercooked. The downside is real, though: 5% base crit means crit builds don’t just “happen” by accident, and you’ll feel it if you try to force it without Diamond Flask uptime or Precision.
Build choices that feel good in maps
A lot of folks default to dual wielding because it’s the simplest way to turn the screen into confetti. Wild Strike is the obvious crowd-pleaser, but it’s not the only option. Anything that hits quickly and likes flat damage will behave, and you’ll notice freezes and shocks showing up even without trying too hard. The trick is keeping it practical: pick one main skill, then stack the boring-but-correct supports like Elemental Damage with Attacks and Multistrike. After that, solve your stats early, because 113 Strength and Dexterity can be annoying if you’re pathing greedily.
Bossing reality and where it can fall short
On bosses, Rebuke can feel amazing or kind of awkward, depending on how you scale it. If you spread yourself too thin, your damage looks colourful but doesn’t land hard. If you lean into attack speed, added flat from jewellery, and solid penetration, it starts to bite. Ascendancies that bring free stats, charge generation, or tankiness help a ton—Raider and Champion are common for a reason. Also, don’t ignore accuracy just because the weapon gives some; missing hits is the fastest way to make this sword feel bad.
Getting one and budgeting like a normal person
Most people end up finding it through trade rather than “target farming” in a clean, predictable way, and the price swings a lot early league. A decent roll is often enough to start, while perfect attack speed rolls can get pricey fast. If you’re trying to push into late endgame content, you’ll probably spend more on the rest of your gear than the sword itself, which is fine—this is a build that loves incremental upgrades. When you’re short on essentials and just want to keep momentum, having access to POE 1 Currency can make the difference between stalling out and actually finishing your setup.
